Teacher Appreciation Opportunity
Introducing the Teacher Appreciation Video Project
May 6-10, 2024, is designated as National Teacher Appreciation Week. However, the Michigan Department of Education is announcing it now for a special reason. Is there a hardworking education you would like to recognize? Make a video to submit. Videos will be posted for the entire month of May.
To do this, MDE would like to invite students to submit a digital video to recognize and thank a specific educator for their impact. Submitted videos will be posted on this webpage and the MDE YouTube channel. The OEE Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) social media pages throughout May will be promoting the videos. Check us out: @MIeducator.
Full instructions for submitting videos of appreciation for Michigan’s educators are available on the Teacher Appreciation Month website.
Whether you are an educator or a parent, you can get involved right now by following the OEE on social media using the links above, and by promoting the hashtag #MITeachAppreesh. If you have a child at home who has some great things to say about an educator, don’t hesitate—use the instructions found on our website to submit a video today!

November Service Project: Shoeboxes for the Homeless
We plan to give back to an important organization in our community, Mel Trotter Ministries. Mel Trotter Ministries helps the homeless people who are in need. One small way we can help is to create shoeboxes. Let’s work together to fill 50 shoeboxes for Mel Trotter’s Homeless Shelter. You may make a monetary donation or bring in supplies. You may bring in items or money to Mrs. Vogel. We will work on shoeboxes at our November meeting and after school. Shoeboxes will be delivered in the last week of November.
