North Oakview Family Fun Night
North Oakview is excited to host Family Fun Night on Friday, March 20 at the High School. As you know events are dependent on volunteers. There are 3-time slots available. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for 1, 2, or all 3. The slots are from 5:30-6:30, 6:30-7:30, and 7:30-8:30. Each time slot requires 50 volunteers.

East Oakview Needs Your Help
Community Dinner and Art Show
We are looking for some help with our community dinner and ARTOME (art show) on Wednesday, February 26th from 4:30-7pm. Dinner will run from 5:30 to-6:30 that night. We are looking for help with setup (4:30-5:30) serving meals (5:30-6:30) to students and their families, and clean up during and after the event (6-7). We will also need some helpers willing to help parents and students locate their framed artwork. On Saturday, April 18th East Oakview is once again having their annual school carnival from 11am-2pm. The little kids absolutely love seeing the bigger students at their school. NJHS Members Meet with Potential New Candidates
We have over 125 potential new National Junior Honor Society members. Candidates will receive an invitation to attend a MANDATORY meeting the week of February 17th, 2020. We need your help. You know best what it requires to be a distinguished member of the National Junior Honor Society.
Come present to potential candidates and their families. Meetings take place at Crossroads Middle School on the following dates:

The Love Project: Spreading The Love
February 7, 2020
In honor of his memory, we will offer several fundraising activities before, during and after the games to benefit this scholarship. One of the activities is a painting party that will be held from 6:00–9:00 pm in the athletic lobby. All ages are welcome. Admission is a suggested donation of $20 in advance (registration form found at nvps.net/community/adultenrichment) or $25 at the door and will include a canvas painting that you create and take home at the end of the game. The suggested donation for a family is $60. Please see the registration form for details. Don’t like to paint? No worries! ‘Women Up,’ the National Arts Honor Society (NAHS), the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and the Northview High School Athletic Department will offer side-by-side optional activities so everyone can get involved. Please join us for this fun, a community project where you’ll enjoy good company while participating in a great cause.

Mark your calendars. Random Acts of Kindness is celebrated nationally on February 17th. The National Junior Honor Society is selling kindness shirts in an effort to fundraise to support Make A Wish. We are partnering with Northeast Print House who is giving back a percentage of each shirt sold. Please consider helping us by either purchasing a shirt and/or sharing the link with your friends and family.

Enjoy a good time with good friends. National Junior Honor Society members are invited to an outing at Rosa Parks Ice Skating Circle. We will have lunch first at one of the local restaurants and then ice-skate. Be sure to dress for the weather. If there is inclement weather, we will stay at school for a movie. Students will need money for lunch and $2.00 for ice-skating. Permission slips and $2.00 due January 13th. We will depart school at 11:15 and return around 2:15 p,m.

National Junior Honor Society
Fall Service Project
Join National Junior Honor Society members who are working to help support an important organization in our community. Mel Trotter Ministries provides rescue and restoration services to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness. We hope to fill 50 shoeboxes to help individuals who are experiencing homelessness. You may make a monetary donation or bring in supplies. You may bring in items or money to Mrs. Vogel. We will work on shoeboxes at our November meeting.
Suggested Items:
Small toiletries: shampoo, deodorant, lotion, soap, toothpaste (note - travel sizes from hotels are perfect)

Spooky Sprint NEF
The Northview Education Foundation is hosting its annual Spooky Sprint on Saturday, October 19th. NJHS members can sign up to work the event or run the event. Volunteers will need to report to Boulder Creek located at 5750 Brewer Ave. Belmont, MI. Please report at 8:00. Volunteers will be done between 9:30 and 9:40 am. Email Mrs. Vogel at kvogel@nvps.net.
If you and your family, run or walk it will count towards two volunteer hours. spooky5k.org

Summer Volunteer Opportunities at KDL Plainfield
KDL is looking for enthusiastic library volunteers for the summer at the Plainfield Branch of Kent District Library! This program is open to teens entering 6th – 12th grade in the fall.
